HAMMON, KATIE
(The Beckham County Democrat, Erick, Beckham Co, Ok, 23 March 1939)
Mrs. William A. Hammon, who before her marriage was Katie Saylor, was born
at Saylorville, Iowa and came to Oklahoma in 1902.  She lived near Erick
for 16 years, leaving here in 1918 since which time the family have lived
in and near Oklahoma City.
Mrs. Hammon passed away at her home 4315 South Harvey Avenue, Oklahoma
City, Friday at the age of 69 years.
Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in Capitol Hill Nazarene
Church.  Burial was at Bethany.
Mrs. Hammon is survived by a devoted and sorrowing husband, seven sons and
six daughters, sons are Ray F. Hammon, Erick; Earl Virgil and Roy, all of
Oklahoma City; Vern of Wheatland; Joe of Mustang, and Arthur of Los
Angeles, California.  The daughters, Mrs. Pearl Linville, Moorewood; Mrs.
John Watts, Bellview, New Mexico; Mrs. Doll Sanders, Erick; Miss Eva Mae
Hammon, Crawford, Miss Grace Hammon, Oklahoma City and Mrs. Pauline Fauss,
also of the city.
Erick friends extend sympathy to the family.
