HERRING, ELIZABETH A.
(28 Dec 1911, Beckham County Democrat, Erick, Beckham Co, OK):
Died at the home of her son, Chas. Herring, in Erick, December 22, 1911,
after a short illness, Mrs. Elizabeth A. Herring.  Funeral was held at the
Christian church, December 24, and remains were buried in the Erick
cemetery by those of her husband, J. F. Herring, who died about two years
ago.
The deceased was born in Texas 56 years ago.  Several years ago she was
married to J. F. Herring.  Seven children blessed the union, all of whom
survive the mother.
The funeral services were very impressive.  The Rev. Bletcher spoke words
of comfort and hope to the bereaved and admonished all to live in such a
way as to "meet the dear departed" in the home prepared by ominipotence
hands for the worthy.  The large crowd of neighbors and friends who
assembled at the funeral told more than words the love and respect that
all held for Mrs. Elizabeth A. Herring.
The Democrat extends sympathy to the bereaved relatives and friends in
this sad hour.
(Other Notes):  Mrs. Childress of Foss, Okla., Mrs. Grayum of Davidson,
Okla., and Mrs. Brown of Moberly, Mo., were here this week attending the
funeral of their mother, Mrs. Elizabeth A. Herring, who was buried Sunday
in the Erick cemetery.
