HOLCOMB, ROAN
(1 Apr 1930, Beckham County Democrat, Erick, Beckham Co, OK):
Former Erickite Dies in California.
R. Holcomb, 74, father of Mrs. W. H. White of this city, died suddenly
about 8 o'clock last night at his home in Lindsay.  The deceased had been
a resident of Lindsay for about 18 years and had formerly lived for many
years in Oklahoma and Texas.  He was a native of Georgia and was a
shoemaker by trade.  Funeral services will be held tomorrow afternoon at
Lindsay, with interment there.  The aged man is survived by his wife, Mrs.
Elizabeth Holcomb, and the following children: R. L. Holcomb of Fresno;
Mrs. Jennie Asher, Mrs. Tennie Holley, Poe (Joe) Holcomb, Mrs. Nettie
McCombs and Frank Holcomb, all of Lindsay, and Mrs. W. H. White of
Porterville - Porterville, California, Daily Record.
Mr. Holcomb above referred to formerly lived near Erick west of town and
is remembered by many of the pioneer citizens of this community.
