All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ********************************************************************* HOWARD, AGUSTA ANNE (24 Oct 1918, Beckham County Democrat, Erick, Beckham Co, OK): Died Oct. 19, 1918, at the age of 24 years 5 months and 12 days the spirit of Mrs. Agusta Howard, wife of B. A. Howard, took it's flight to its eternal home. She was a victim of typhoid fever; had been a patient sufferer for 28 days. She leaves to mourn her demise, parents, four brothers and five sisters, a broken hearted husband and three small boys. It seems his grief is almost more than he can bear, we extend our heartfelt sympathy to all the relatives, but most to the young husband. Her body was laid to rest in the Erick Cemetery. Obituary. Agusta Anne Blair was born near Bartlesville, Independence Co., Arkansas, May 4, 1894. Residing there until 1907 removing with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. D. S. Blair, to Texola, Okla. where she attended High School after attending Normal school at Sayre and Weatherford. She was united in marriage to Borrois Augustus Howard, May 17, 1913. To this union was born three sons. She was touched by a finger of love and called to come up higher on Saturday morning, Oct. 19, 1918. She was stricken with Typhoid fever, and it seemed death claimed her from the first, but during the four weeks of pain and suffering she was uncomplaining all that loving hearts and hands could do was done but it seemed she could not stay. The funeral services were held at the Erick Cemetery, Saturday 4 p.m., Oct. 19, 1918. She was indeed a true devoted wife, a patient loving mother, kind, tender, affectionate; to know her was to love her. Her Heaven on earth was her home. She was untiring in administering to the wants of her loved ones. A father, mother, five sisters and four brothers mourn with her husband and three precious boys. They are: Mr. and Mrs. D. S. Blair, B. H. Blair, Mrs. Marston Barnes, Mrs. Lucille Webber, Mrs. Frank Howard and Tessie Blair, Fortuna, Cal. and Wade Blair, Camp Bowie, Tex., Mrs. J. R.
