All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ********************************************************************* JOHNSON, EFFIE RUBY (26 Jan 1911, Beckham County Democrat, Erick, Beckham Co, OK): The remains of Miss Effie Ruby Johnson were laid to rest in the Erick cemetery, Wednesday, Jan. 25, 1911. Rev. Mauldin preached the funeral sermon. The Democrat extends condolence. Miss Effie Ruby Johnson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Johnson of Erick, died January 24, 1911, age 16 years, 4 months and 29 days. Miss Effie was well and favorably known here, having lived here with her parents for the past 8 years. About six months ago she was taken sick with quick consumption. (26 Jan 1911, Erick Altruist, Erick, Beckham Co, OK): DIED. After an illness lingering for several months, Miss Effie Ruby Johnson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Johnson, died at her home at Erick at 9:50 o'clock a.m. Tuesday, January 21 (sic), 1911, age 16 years, 4 months and 29 days. Miss Ruby was born in Wells county, Texas, and with her parents, brother and sister came to Greer county, Oklahoma, in 1902, since which time she has lived in this vicinity and has by her pleasing personality made a host of friends. She became a member of the Baptist church, and was a good Christian girl. She is survived by her father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Johnson of Erick, a sister, Mrs. J. E. Kelley of Sayre, and a brother, Hilliary Johnson, of Erick. Funeral services were held at 2 o'clock yesterday afternoon at the family residence, attended by a large number of friends, Rev. H. L. Mauldin conducting the services, interment was made at Erick cemetery.
