(19 Apr 1923, Beckham County Democrat, Erick, Beckham Co, OK):
W. C. LEWIS DEAD
Word was received in Erick Sunday morning announcing the death of W. C.
Lewis, a son of Issac Lewis, which occured (sic) at Oklahoma City last
Sunday.
W. C. Lewis, better known by his many friends as "Bill," came to this
county with his father years ago and settled at Sayre where he resided
until he moved to Oklahoma City.  We became acquainted with him about 20
years ago, and we have always found him to be a man that could be depended
upon - whose word was as good as his bond - a man who was ready at all
times to extend a helping hand to his fellowmen.
The friends and relatives will miss him.
The Democrat extends condolence to the bereaved relatives and friends.

Mrs. E. A. Lewis, who was called to Oklahoma City, owing to the death of
W. C. Lewis, returned home Monday.
