LOWRANCE, ESTER
(18 Dec 1924, Thursday, Erick Democrat, Erick, Beckham Co, OK):
Grandma Lowrance, who has been ill for some time at the Sanitarium was
brought home Monday, very ill.
Mrs. E. B. Lowrance, wife of Dr. S. S. Lowrance died at their home in
Southeast Erick, Tuesday, Dec. 16 at 11:05 P.M.  She only liked two days
of reaching her 92nd birthday.

Ester (Bilderback) Lowrance was born in Ohio, December 18, 1832, a
daughter of Danel (sic) Bilderback, who raised a family of 9 children, six
girls and three boys.  Ester being the youngest girl and the last one to
pass away, yet all her brothers and sisters lived to full mature years and
most of them to a ripe old age.  Was married to Dr. S. S. Lowrance,
September 4, 1853.  To this union was born five girls and six boys.  Two
boys died in Laclede county, Mo., at a tender age, Jim 14, and Tom 13. 
Linnie, the youngest daughter died at Blum, Texas, at the age of 20; Mary
Ann, married E. Jackson and live in Erick, Okla., and have a family of
three girls and five boys.  Sarah married James Wheeler of Blum, Texas,
and raised a family of three girls and two boys, and died at Blum, Texas,
at the age of 56.  Martha married Joe Holeman and live at Spring Dale,
Ark., and the mother of two girls.  Henry R. married Frone Jackson, born
to their union four girls and five boys, one girl and one boy died in
infancy.  Elizabeth married J. W. Dennis and live in Erick, Okla.  To this
union was born four boys and four girls, all living, the youngest 18. 
Alex married Elizabeth Dennis and live in Denver; have one girl and three
boys, one died in infancy.  Sam married Ada Wilson and live in Blum,
Texas, to their union was born four girls and four boys.  Frank married
Berdie Holmes and is the father of three children and lives in Kingfisher,
Okla.
Mrs. Lowrance with her husband and family moved from Laclede county, Mo.,
to Blum, Hill county, Texas, in 1888.  From there her and her husband
moved to Greer county, Okla., what is now Beckham county, in 1906.  Became
a resident of Erick in 1908, which was her home until her death, December
16, 1924.  She leaves her aged husband, three daughters and three sons, 47
grandchildren.
