(1 Dec 1904, Erick Newspaper, Erick, Beckham Co, OK): J. A. Lytle has just returned from Kansas where he went (to) see his wife who lately went there to visit and when she arrived was mentally deranged to some extent. He found her periodically insane, but placed her in a hospital for treatment and was assured by the physicians that she would recover. We trust that she will, as they are good people and have many friends here who regret exceedingly the misfortune. (22 Dec 1904, Erick Enterprise, Erick, Beckham Co, OK): Mrs. Lytle Dead. J. A. Lytle received a telegram last Sunday that his wife, who was in the hospital at Topeka, Kansas, had died and he went at once to bury her. She had gone to Kansas some time ago to visit relatives and when she arrived at her destination she was mentally unbalanced and gradually declined from that time on until the results as reported. Mr. Lytle came here 4 years ago and filed 7 miles northeast of this place and they have resided on the place ever since. They are good people and have many friends here who will regret exceedingly to learn of Mrs. Lytle's death. Mr. Lytle and the two sons have the deepest sympathy of the entire community in their sad bereavement. --------------------------------------------------- Return to Beckham County Archives: http://www.usgwarchives.net/ok/beckham/beckham.html
