(4 Aug 1910, Erick Altruist, Erick, Beckham Co, OK): Obituary. Died at the family residence in west Erick, August 1st, 1910, Mrs. Emma M. Mauldin, after having suffered intensely since July 1st, from the effects of having been severely burned that day. Mrs. Mauldin, formerly was Miss Emma M. Wallace, was born November 21, 1870, at Fornay, Kaufman County, Texas, she was married to Rev. H. L. Mauldin December 25, 1889, at Greenwood, Texas, to which union eight children were born, five of whom survive their mother. Mr. and Mrs. Mauldin came to Sentinel, Oklahoma, a few years ago and after serving the people there as their pastor for two years they came to Erick, where for more than one year he has been the beloved pastor of the M. E. Church South. Mrs. Mauldin professed Christianity and became united with the church at the age of sixteen, since which time she has been a loyal follower of the Lord Jesus Christ. Death came to Mrs. Mauldin while she was in the full bloom of matured womanhood, and her wise counsel in the home and in her church and social circles will be sadly missed, but the one most sadly bereaved is the husband who is given the responsibility of training the five sweet babes who by the death of their mother are left motherless at the age when a mother's care is so essential to their best development. Besides her immediate family, Mrs. Mauldin is survived by her father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. J. T. Wallace of Greenwood, Texas, and three brothers as follows: Charles Wallace of Kirkland; James Wallace, of Panhandle City; and Herschel Wallace, of Greenwood, Texas, all of whom were at Mrs. Mauldin's bedside during the closing hours of her life. Funeral services conducted Aug. 2, at 3 o'clock, p.m. at the M. E. church, by Presiding Elder W. D. Matthews, of Weatherford, assisted by Rev. McConnell, of Sayre, and Brother Elder, pastor of the Erick Baptist Church. The funeral services were most impressive and must have brought a degree of comfort to the grief stricken loved ones. A large number accompanied the remains to the Erick cemetery where interment was made. (4 Aug 1910, Thursday, Beckham County Democrat, Erick, Beckham Co, OK): Emma M. Wallace, daughter of J.
