Relatives had been at his bedside since his illness began and some of them returned home early last week following an improvement shown by the patient. He became worse immediately following and attending physicians described the malady as typhoid fever. From that he gradually grew worse, death ending his suffering at 6:10 o'clock Sunday afternoon, March 9th, 1930. Yielding to his ambitions he enrolled himself in Oklahoma A. & M. College, last September, taking a course in electrical engineering. It was while in this arduous pursuit that he became ill of the disease that claimed his youthful life. He was secretary of the local order DeMolay, and the members of that organization attended the obsequies in a body. As a further mark of respect to this noble young man, the schools of Erick were dismissed in order that all students could attend the funeral services. The remains were conveyed to this city by Guy Fatheree who left immediately for Stillwater in an ambulance after learning of his passing away.
