(28 May 1925, Thursday, Sayre Journal, Sayre, Beckham Co, OK): Died, at his home in this city early Monday morning, May 25th, 1925, Lloyd Morris Monroe, age 36 years, 11 months and 13 days. The subject of this sketch was our friend and co-worker. We knew him twenty years ago, and at different times during these twenty years have been associated in newspaper work together. Lloyd was with us for the first six months in Sayre on the Journal. Rev. Stigler, pastor of the Baptist church of this city, preached the funeral at the Methodist church at 1 o'clock P.M. Tuesday. Interment was made in the Sayre-Doxey cemetery. The Masonic lodge of this city conducted the burial rites led by Past Master Jess Robinson of Delhi. The burial ceremony was impressive and brought the people present to the realization that soon we shall all be passing that way. Thus, all that was mortal of our friend was placed back into the bosom of Mother Earth, from whence he came, but the soul was smiling from the sunset halo that marks God's farewell to the day - smiling with all the remembered grace of his manhood love and devotion, and saying to us: "The sunset speaks but feebly of the glories of Another day. All is well." CARD OF THANKS To the friends who came to us in our great sorrow, and contributed all that human kindness could suggest to help and comfort, we return most with thanks. Mrs. L. M. Monroe and children of Sayre. Ben H. Monroe and family of Sayre. Mrs. N. R. Monroe of Cheyenne. O. N. Monroe of Wichita Falls, Texas. G. N. Monroe of Wichita Falls, Texas. J. R. Monroe of Wichita Falls, Texas. (4 Jun 1928, Thursday, Sayre Journal, Sayre, Beckham Co, OK): After the funeral of their brother-in-law, L. M. Monroe and visiting a few days with their sister, Mrs. L. M. Monroe, S. M. Goodlett of Hale Center, Texas and Mmes. W. L. Hodges and A. B.
