PHILLIPS, MARTHA C.
(28 Oct 1926, Beckham County Democrat, Erick, Beckham Co, OK):
Mrs. A. D. Phillips, born Dec. 14th, 1832, died at the A. M. Matthews home
October 21st, 1926.
Mrs. Phillips and her son, G. B., have been residents of Erick for the
past two years, though she was unable to be out and get acquainted.
Mrs. Phillips was married twice, the first time to a Mr. James, who was
killed in the Civil war soon after.  To the union with A. D. Phillips four
children, three girls and a boy, were born.  All the children except one
daughter of Coleman, Texas, were with her at her death, she requested that
they bury her in the dress she wore at both of her weddings.  The dress
was of lovely white, embroidered by her own hands.
We join the many friends in extending heartfelt sympathy to the bereaved
family.
