(15 Jun 1922, Beckham County Democrat, Erick, Beckham Co, OK): Soloman M. Plunk Dead. S. M. Plunk died at his home south of Erick last Saturday morning at about 2:30 a.m. The news of his death came as a shock to his many friends in Erick, who for the most part did not know that he was sick, and those who knew of his sickness believed that he was gradually regaining his health and physical strength, and there was a general expression of sorry on the receipt of the sad news. Mr. Plunk was in Erick a week or so ago, and apparently seemed to be in good health, but at that time we are informed was complaining, he went home and gradually grew worse and not until the end did the family and friends give up. Soloman Plunk was born Dec. 12, 1870, in McNairy County, Tenn., and at the age of 18 years joined the Methodist church of which he was a devoted member. He leaves a wife, one boy and four girls to mourn his death who have the condolence of all our citizens. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. Graham of the Methodist church at the Erick cemetery, Sunday, June 11, 1922. Truly a valuable citizen and friend and neighbor has crossed over the river to his reward. --------------------------------------------------- Return to Beckham County Archives: http://www.usgwarchives.net/ok/beckham/beckham.html
