(13 Mar 1930, Thursday, Beckham County Democrat, Erick, Beckham Co, OK): Last Rites for Robert M. (Uncle Bob) Priddy, who died early Tuesday morning in Erick hospital following a prolonged illness, were held at the grave in Erick cemetery, Wednesday afternoon conducted by Rev. S. N. Wilson, Baptist Minister, and long-time friend of the deceased. Beside his wife, the deceased is survived by one sister, Mrs. Lockwood of Tipton, Oklahoma and one brother, John Priddy of Hollis. Mr. Priddy was one of the pioneers of this community having settled on a farm some 8 miles southwest of Erick, in 1899. He formerly lived near Hollis, in Harmon County, then Greer County, Texas. At one time he was a rancher in the employe (sic) of the late Col. Goodnight "Father of the Panhandle". Uncle Bob Priddy , as he was known to his friends, was a big-hearted, whole-souled, hail-fellow, well met and numbered his friends by his acquaintances. Though not affiliated with any church, he was a firm believer in right and had the profoundest respect for religious matters. He believed in the "Golden Rule" and was always ready and willing to help any worthy cause with his worldly goods and moral support. Bob Priddy will be missed in this community where he left by example and precept a record long to be remembered. May his soul rest in sweet repose.
