RIGGS, JAMES McKINNEY
(26 May 1910, Erick Altruist, Erick, Beckham Co, OK):
J. M. Riggs Suddenly Passes Away
Mr. J. M. Riggs of the vicinity of Texola died quite suddenly at his home
on Thursday evening, May 19, and was buried at the Erick cemetery Friday,
the 20th.  The following regarding the deceased is taken from the Texola
Herald:
"After working in the field all day, J. M. Riggs came home from his work
Thursday evening about his usual quitting time, complaining of his breast
and heart hurting and died within a few hours.  He told his family shortly
after he reached home that he was going to die, but none regarded his
condition so serious as he, however, Dr. Hatcher was called and nothing
left undone that could have given him relief.
Mr. Riggs was a good man - an honest, hard-working man and a good citizen,
husband and father.  He leaves a wife and several children to whom the
entire community extends sympathy in their bereavement.
