(4 Oct 1928, Beckham County Democrat, Erick, Beckham Co, OK):
O. B. ROBERTS DEAD
Last Tuesday O. B. Roberts who is well known in this community died at the
home of Mr. Holland, south of Erick.  Mr. Roberts was born in 1850.
The funeral services were held at the Baptist church, Wednesday, at 1:30,
the remains were laid to rest in the Erick cemetery.

Mr. O. B. Roberts was born July 29th, 1850, in Clay County, Texas.  He
departed this life near Erick, Oklahoma, October 2nd, 1928, at the age of
78 years, 2 months and three days.
He was married early in life to Miss Meletha Ann Stewart.  To this union
was born 8 children, 4 boys and 4 girls;  (? no number) of whom with his
wife preceded in death.
He leaves to mourn their loss, 7 children, Ocie, Charlie, and Jimmie
Roberts; Mary Holland, Louila Holland, Sallie Roark and Rosa Quick; three
of whom were present for the funeral.  He leaves 36 grand children and 9
great grandchildren, also 4 brothers and 3 sisters, and many other
relatives and friends.
In early life he was converted to the Savior, and baptized into the
Missionary Baptist Church, at Clarksville, Texas.  He lived a true,
faithful christian life until death.  He was a member of the church about
40 years.
