(17 Jun 1926, Beckham County Democrat, Erick, Beckham Co, OK): DIED. Mrs. H. A. Rogers died at her home here Sunday morning after a period of illness. Funeral services were conducted at the Baptist Tabernacle Monday afternoon, when a number of friends attended to pay their last respects to this dear mother. The remains were laid to rest in the Erick cemetery. The obituary of the late Mrs. H. A. Rogers will be given in next week's paper. Mrs. Billie Callehan, of Ardmore; Mr. and Mrs. Henry Hackett of Oklahoma City; Miss Bert Rogers of Shawnee; Mr. and Mrs. Dourghety (sic) and children of Martha and Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Rogers and family of Spearman were in attendance at the funeral of Mrs. H. A. Rogers. (24 Jun 1926, Beckham County Democrat, Erick, Beckham Co, OK): Mrs. H. W. Rogers passed away at her home in Erick on the 13th, inst. at the age of 64 years. Deceased had been a resident of this county for a number of years, coming to Oklahoma from Texas. Mrs. Rogers maiden name was Hester Mixon. She leaves one brother living, J. C. Mixon, who resides in Erick. She was a native of Louisiana-born at Winparish (near Winfield, the county seat) on New Years Day of 1862. On the 19th day of Dec. 1883 she was married to Henry W. Rogers at Caldwell, Texas. There were born to Mr. and Mrs. Rogers eight children, one son and seven daughters, all are still living, Charlie Rogers who resides at Spearman, Texas, Mrs. Lillie Doughty of Martha, Oklahoma, Mrs. Maude Robinson of Erick, Mrs. Lola Lovejoy of Corpus Christi, Texas, Mrs. Elizabeth Hackett, Chickasha, Okla., Mrs. Billie Callahan, Ardmore, Okla., Mrs. Nellie Lewis, Erick, and Miss Bert Rogers, Shawnee, Okla. The husband also survives. There are fifteen grandchildren and one great grandchild living. Three grand children joined the beckoning Angels and were with the welcoming cast when Grandma entered it. The entire family, with the exception of Mrs. Dr. Lovejoy of Corpus Christi, and a granddaughter, Mrs. Gladys Robinson Evans of Canutillo, Texas, were present at the funeral. The deceased was a faithful member of the Baptist Church, and from the local Church she was buried Monday afternoon following her demise. Love and respect were shown by the profusion of flowers, the tears shed and the gathering of a multitude. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. Elder of Mangum, Rev. S. N. Wilson of Lone Oak and Rev. Hutto, pastor of this Church. Our experience has taught us that true friends are never lacking in time of need. We shall always cherish the memory of those who came to us in our time of sorrow.
