ROPER, ALTON POPE
(22 Feb 1905, Erick Newspaper, Erick, Beckham Co, OK):
The infant child of Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Roper, who live north of Erick,
died last Monday evening and was buried in Erick cemetery Wednesday.
Died.  Tuesday, January 31, of membranous croup, Alton Roper, aged 6
months and 5 days, the infant son of Mr. and Mrs. Jim Roper.  Little Alton
had been a patient sufferer for several weeks, till the death angel came
and relieved him of his earthly suffering.  The bereaved ones have one
consolation for they know their little one has gone to a land more
glorious than ours, where pain and suffering is no more.  The remains were
laid to rest in the Erick cemetery the following day.
