C. (sic) Rudd died in Sayre hospital Sunday afternoon. Funeral services were held in the Main Street Baptist Church, Tuesday afternoon, at 2:30. Rev. Etheredge officiating. Sayre undertakers in charge. (21 Nov 1929, Thursday, Erick Democrat, Erick, Beckham Co, OK): THOMAS CLAUDE RUDD Was born in Love County, Oklahoma, July 16th, 1895, and departed this live, November 10th, 1929, at Sayre, Oklahoma. Thus at the age of 34 years, 3 months, 24 days. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. T. O. Rudd of Texola, Oklahoma. He was converted and joined the Missionary Baptist Church when he was 17 years old. He married Miss Lele Holland March 17, 1917, and to this union was born two children. Viola, who preceeded her father, and Agnes who is here today. There are left to mourn his departure, a wife and daughter, Agnes, his father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. T. O. Rudd, and two brothers, Mr. H. C. Rudd of Watonga, Oklahoma; and Mr. P. G. Rudd of Texola, Oklahoma; and two sisters, Mrs. M. C. Eddington, Haileyville, Oklahoma; and Mrs. Hugh Turner of Texola, Oklahoma. Together with his father-in-law and mother-in-law and other near relatives and a great host of friends. Claude united with the Main Street Baptist Church in the summer of 1928, and is the first member of that church to be called home to be with the Lord.
