SHOTWELL, LUCY A.
(25 Jun 1925, Thursday, Erick Democrat, Erick, Beckham Co, OK):
Mrs. Lawrence Shotwell died at the family home two miles north and west of
Sayre Saturday morning after an illness of several weeks.  Interment was
had Sunday morning at the Buffalo cemetery.  Mrs. Shotwell leaves her
husband and several children to mourn her loss.

OBITUARY
Died at her home northwest of Sayre, Lucy A. Shotwell, wife of E. L.
Shotwell.
Born February 11, 1882  (Cemetery has 1885).
Died June 19, 1925
Funeral services were held at the residence at 10:30 A.M. Sunday June 21st
and interment was made in the Buffalo cemetery.
Mrs. Shotwell was a Christian woman.  As such a life was a blessing and a
benefaction to all within the sphere of its influence so is the death of
such a one a public misfortune, as well as an irreparable loss to the home
circle made desolate by her departure.  It is difficult to pay a fitting
tribute to the memory of so noble a woman - one whose every day life was
embellished by the charming and lovable attributes of her sex.
She was a perfect lady at all times under all circumstances, she seemed
born to inspire the love and respect of all who were so fortunate to have
her acquaintance.  No one was more willing to aid the suffering, cheer the
desponding, sustain the weak, and to throw over the frailities of our race
the mantle of Christian charity.
As an editor in saying the last word, we can only extend sympathy to the
living, and point them to the promise, "At eventide it shall be Light."
