SIMMONDS, MARGARET L.
(13 Nov 1924, Thursday, Erick Democrat, Erick, Beckham Co, OK):
DIED.  Grandmother Simmonds, mother of W. E. Simmonds, cashier of the
Farmers National Bank, passed away Wednesday at her son's home in Erick.
Particular concerning Mrs. Simmonds demise will be given next week.
(20 Nov 1924, Thursday, Erick Democrat, Erick, Beckham Co, OK):
Mrs. Margaret Simmonds was born May the 18th, 1847, at Carthage, Ill. 
Died Nov. the 12th, 1924, at Erick, Oklahoma.  She was 77 years, 5 months
and 24 days, reaching the shores of an unburdened land.
Eleven months she spent bed fast in the home of her son, W. E. Simmonds of
this city.  Though the sea was rough, and sailing uncertain during that
part of her journey, she looked with the most courageous patience until
the Master of her vessel would say peace be still.
The writer visited her almost every day of her illness, and the memory of
such perfect endurance and patience with which she waited the final
conclusion of the devine (sic) wisdom, has made me a better man.  She
leaves behind, W. E. Simmonds, Cashier of the Farmers National Bank; James
L. Swain of Brooksville, Mo., her sons, and Mrs. May Anderson of Carthage,
Ill., her sister to recall with fond affection her successful life.
The citizens of Erick join them to share with them the sorrow of her loss
to the family and community.
