All rights reserved. http://www.rootsweb.com/~usgenweb/copyright.htm ************************************************ SIMMONS, WILLIAM ECTOR (11 Sep 1930, Beckham County Democrat, Erick, Beckham Co, OK): W. E. (Ector) Simmons, 27, son of Mr. and Mrs. D. W. Simmons of this city, died at the family home, 201 South Oak street, early Wednesday morning following a prolonged illness superinduced by leakage of the heart. Young Simmons was a farmer and while in the performance of his duties in the early summer working in the harvest fields was stricken with the malady that resulted in his death. He was born in Grayson County, Texas, in 1903, removing to this community with his parents when a boy and has since resided with his parents here. He was unmarried and besides his parents is survived by five brothers and four sisters. One brother is Cullen Simmons, a prominent farmer residing some two miles west of town. Funeral services were held at 4 o'clock Wednesday afternoon in the First Baptist church, of which deceased was a member, conducted by Rev. W. A. Roberts. Burial was in Erick cemetery under the direction of Guy Fatheree, Funeral Director.
