SMITH, MARY I.
(28 Dec 1922, Thursday, Beckham County Democrat, Erick, Beckham Co, OK):
DIED.  Mrs. Mary I. Smith departed this life Dec. 23, 1922, at the age of
73 years.  She was born near Taladigo, Ala., Feb. 7, 1849.
She was married to Uriah Smith Oct. 23, 1886.  To this union was born
twelve children, eight of whom survive their mother.
Mrs. Smith has resided near Erick since 1906.  At the time of her death
she was making her home with her daughter, Mrs. S. F. McCown.
Her husband and surviving children, Mr. D. B. Smith of Steadman, Okla.,
Mr. R. D. Smith of Lorain, Texas; Mrs. R. A. Morgan of Gustisberg, Texas;
Mrs. S. P. Roberts of Westville, Okla.; and Mrs. S. F. McCown, T. U. Smith
and J. E. Smith, all of Erick were all present at her death.  She also
leaves a number of grandchildren and great grand-children to morn (sic)
her death.
She was a loving wife and devoted mother.  We all feel her loss deeply.
