(22 Mar 1928, Thursday, Erick Democrat, Erick, Beckham Co, OK): Sad news was received here Monday night stating that Mrs. Mary R. Smith of Laranzo, Texas, died suddenly Monday at 4 o'clock. She was making her home with her daughter, Mrs. W. D. Daniels. Mr. and Mrs. John Smith left immediately for that place. Mrs. Mary Smith has a host of friends in and near Erick who are grieved to hear of her death. An obituary will follow next week. (12 Apr 1928, Thursday, Erick Democrat, Erick, Beckham Co, OK): Obituary. Mrs. Mary R. Bull was born in Marion county, Alabama, November 10th, 1848. She departed this life on the 19th day of March at Lorenza, Texas, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. W. D. Daniel. She was laid to rest beside her husband at Pampa, Texas, on March 21st, 1928. The funeral service was conducted at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Daniel, March 20th, 1928. The service was conducted by the pastor of the Methodist Church, which she joined early in life in 1861. Her age was 79 years, 4 months and 9 days. In 1867 she was united in marriage to Daniel H. Smith. To this union was born 8 children, 3 boys and five girls, of this number one boy and two girls preceeded their mother in death. Her husband also preceeded in death April 17th, 1911 and was buried at Pampa, Texas. The relatives who attended the funeral were Charles W. Smith and family of Groom, Texas; Mr. and Mrs. John Smith of Erick, Oklahoma; Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Jackson and family of Idolu, Texas; Mr. and Mrs. W. D. Daniels and family of Lorenzo, Texas; Mr. John Daniels and family and Walter Stevicks and family of Grady, New Mexico; and Mr. G. W. Bull, her brother of Bangs, Texas. Mr. A. S. Bull, another brother of Dalhart, Texas, attended the burial services at Pampa, Texas. She had one brother, Mr. J. E. Bull of Higgins, Texas, and one daughter, Mrs. M. L.
