SMITH, JOHN H.
(27 Feb 1908, Erick Altruist, Erick, Beckham Co, OK):
At his home about 6 miles southeast of Erick on last Friday afternoon,
John H. Smith, an old resident of Greer county and but recently moved into
this vicinity from near the Haystack Mountain.  He had been ailing for
several months from the effect of kidney trouble which developed into
Bright's Disease that brought about the final dissolution.  He was about
60 or 65 years old and until the demise had laid hold upon him a year ago,
he was a hale and hearty old man, always amiable and in a most cheerful
mood toward his friends and acquaintances.  He leaves a widow, two sons
and other relatives besides a host of friends with whom the Altruist
condoles in their bereavement.
