Mrs. Mary Vannerson, age 87 years, 4 months and 28 days died Sunday, November 15th at the home of Dr. Nay, south of Texola. Rev. Tinkle the Methodist preacher at Texola conducted the funeral services, Monday afternoon, in the presence of number of her friends who paid their last respect to their dear friend. The body was laid to rest in the Vannerson cemetery, on the farm of Chas. Vannerson, a son of the deceased. (19 Nov 1925, Thursday, Texola Tribune, Texola, Beckham Co, OK): Grandma Sanderson (sic), mother of Mrs. H. H. Nay, died at her daughter's home south of Texola, last Saturday afternoon. Infirmities of old was ascribed as the cause of her death, the deceased having been confined to bed for a long time. Burial was had at the old homestead in the family cemetery in the Shiloah community on last Monday afternoon. Rev. Tinkle of the Methodist church conducted the funeral service. An obituary will appear in the next paper. (26 Nov 1925, Thursday, Texola Tribune, Texola, Beckham Co, OK): Mary Arbery, born in Franklin county, Kentucky, August 17, 1838, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. H. P. (sic) Nay, Texola, Oklahoma, November 15, 1925, age 87 years. At the age of four years the deceased moved with her parents to Dangerfield, Cass county, Texas, where she grew to young womanhood. She met and married L. Vannerson in 1860 and to this union was born eleven children, seven of whom are living to mourn the loss of their aged mother. Deceased was converted and joined the church early in life and lived a devoted, consecrated and active Christian life throughout the period of her stay here upon earth up until a few years before her death when she was confined to her home. She was devoted mother and wife and lived her life for her children always bearing the burdens of life joyfully fully realizing that it is more blessed to give than to receive. Her children were tender and kind to her in her illness and for a long time before she died she required constant attention which was always accorded her. Only four of the children were permitted to be present at the funeral. They were: Mr. and Mrs. W. T. Lockheart, Mangum, Oklahoma; Frank Vannerson, Tulia, Texas; Charles Vannerson, Erick, Oklahoma, and Mrs. H. P. Nay, Texola, Oklahoma, with whom she was living at her death. The other children living are: Mrs. F.
