(30 Nov 1922, Beckham County Democrat, Erick, Beckham Co, OK): Dr. J. E. Yarbrough was born at Barnesville, Georgia, Dec. 1st 1878. Died Nov. the 24th, 1922. He was converted and joined the Methodist church at the age of eight years and lived a consistent christian life until the end. He moved to Erick Oklahoma in 1912, and continued in every way to fulfill his mission. He labored alone, until Sept. the 27th, 1914, when he and Miss Jennie Coffee, were united in matrimony. His idea of safety was the human heart; his treasures most valuable were deposited there without a fear that he could draw on it through out the ages in the world above. It has already been demonstrated by the largest funeral procession that was ever witnessed in this county, that there is a growing harvest from seeds he has sown, "we can speak the words of the apostle" being dead he yet speaketh. CARD OF THANKS We desire to thank the good people and friends of Erick for their loving kindness and great hospitality, the beautiful flowers and evergreens extended to our son, husband and brother, Dr. Yarbrough, during his sickness and death. May god bless you all and may we all finally meet in the Heaven of rest - Where we believe he is now. Mr. and Mrs. S. C. Yarbrough. Mrs. Jennie Yarbrough. A. M. Yarbrough. Mrs. Ruth Harris. --------------------------------------------------------- Return to Beckham County Archives: http://www.rootsweb.com/~usgenweb/ok/beckham/beckham.htm
