Unk. d.23 Feb 1928 buried Carter Cemetery *Carter,Beckham Co.,Ok., ************************************************************01 March 1928 *Sayre Headlight *One of Beckham county's oldest citizens,James Andrew GARRETT,died at Elk City last Friday after suffering three weeks of blood poisoning,originating from a small scratch on the ankle.He was taken to the hospital with the hopes of saving his life by the amputation of the effected limb.Mr.GARRETT came to this county some twenty-five years ago with his family,locating on the farm five miles east-of this city.He was a prosperous farmer and was generally known throughout this section and has retained his friendship through honesty and square dealings,and the partaking of all the worth while things of life.The funeral and interment were at the Carter cemetery last Saturday afternoon,the remains being in charge of the LITTRALL-JOHNSON undertaking department of this city.Besides his wife he is survived by two daughters and four sons,who were present at the time of his death.The county joins with the family in sympathy in the loss of their father and husband.
