He passed away March 8, 2002 in Great Plains Medical Center, Elk City, Oklahoma at the age of 78 years 6 months and 9 days. Harold grew up in the Reydon community where he graduated from High School. He entered the United States Air Force where he served his country during World War II. After his discharge he returned to Reydon and married Fannie B. Batchlor at Wheeler, Texas on June 3, 1946. They moved to Oklahoma City for eleven years before moving to LA county and later to Westminister, California. Harold attended UCLA and after receiving his teaching credentials he taught Vocational Education in Garden Grove Unified School District until his retirement in 1986. In the spring of 1988 they moved to Sayre to make their home where Harold was an avid golfer. He was a member of the Granite First Baptist Church, Granite Masonic Lodge where he was a 32nd Degree, York Rite Mason and the Reydon American Legion. He was preceded in deaath by his parents, 2 brothers, and 3 sisters. Services were held Monday, Marc h 11, 2002 at 10:00 a.m. at Rose Chapel, officiated by Tom Cooksey. Burial was held at the Cheyenne Cemetery, Cheyenne, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma under the direction of Rose Chapel Funeral Service, Sayre. Survivors include: Fannie B. Gray of the home; one daughter, Cathy Gray and friend, John Jones of San Diego, CA.; one son Ken Gray of Sayre, OK.; one sister, Rose Apadaccini of Orville, CA.; two grandchildren, Jon Dickason and wife, Patricia of Placentia, CA., Jessica Sawyers and husband, John of Idllwild, CA.; two great grandchildren, Maegan and Zachary; a host of relatives and friends.
