The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. http://www.usgwarchives.net/ *********************************************************************** *Note* GREEN,Virgil Rufus b.22 Nov 1904 d.11 Nov 1996 buried Carter Cemetery*Carter Beckham Co.,Ok., m.22 Nov 1925 Lida Lee (BRODDRICK) **************************************************************The Sayre Journal,November 14,1996 *Virgil Rufus GREEN,91,died Nov.11,1996,in a Temple,Okla.,nursing home.Funeral services were held Wednesday,Nov.13,in the Temple First Baptist Church with Ruben GREEN officiating.Burial was in the Carter Cemetery under direction of HART-WYATT Funeral Home of Temple.Mr.GREEN was born on Nov.22,1904,near Sayre.He grew up in and around Sayre,where he graduated from high school and then attended Sayre Junior College,receiving a degree in education.He later graduated from Oklahoma Baptist University and began preaching and ministering to many small-town Baptist churches throughout Oklahoma.He married Lida Lee BRODDRICK and she died in 1962.Mr.GREEN had made his home in Temple for the past few years and was a member of the First Baptist Church.He is also preceded in death by his parents,three brothers and four sisters.He is survived by two sons,Marion GREEN of Wichita Falls,Texas,and Willis GREEN of Lebanon,Mo.,a daughter Loretta MORGAN of Mooreland,Okla.,one brother,R.E.GREEN of New Mexico,six sisters,Edna WHITE of Sayre,Beaula PASCAL of Ft.Worth,Texas,Willa CRAWFORD and Dorothy DAVIS,both of Lawton,Della Marie OWENS of New Mexico and June SCROGGINS of Grand Junction,Colo.;11 grandchildren,several great granchildren and many other relatives and friends.
