M. Rogers, 422 South Washington street, will be held at 3 o'clock Sunday afternoon at the First Christian church with Rev. D. W. Reece, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Fairlawn ceme- tery. Mr. Griffin was born June 21, 1858 in Drew county, Arkansas and was married March 20, 1883 to Francis H. Jones. Mrs. Griffin died here May 25, 1933 and their eldest son James Monroe Griffin died in 1905. Children surviving include Mrs. A. J. Larm, Tucson, Ariz; W. E. Griffin, Rush Springs, Okla; Mrs. Emma Moore, Garber; Mrs. E. M. Rogers, Elk City. Mr. Griffin had been a member of the Baptist church here for the past 20 years. Elk City Newspaper 27 Aug 1939 Funeral services for John Luther Griffin, 81-year-old city resident, were held at 3 o'clock Sunday af- ternoon at the First Christian church with Rev. O. W. Reece of- ficiating. Mr. Griffin was born June 21, 1858, in Gould county, Arkansas, and died August 21 at the home of his daughter, Mrs. E. M. Rogers, from a heart ailment. He was mar- ried March 20, 1883 to Frances Jones in Arkansas and they come to this county in 1903. Mrs. Grif- fin preceded him in death in May, 1933. Survivors, besides Mrs. Rogers, are Mrs. A. J. Larm, Tucson, Ariz.. W. E. Griffin Rush Springs; and Mrs. Emma Moore, Garber. Elk City Journal 31 Aug 1939.
