Keith Russell of- ficiating. Burial will follow in the Fairlawn Cemetery under the direc- tion of the Martin Funeral Home. Cecil Horace Grubbs was born in Lexington, Tenn., on Jan. 25, 1921 and died Monday at the age of 71. He moved to Alabama with his family. He was married to Mattie Pearl Hicks on May 21, 1941 in Arkansas. Cecil served in the U. S. Army during WWII and after his discharge they made their home in Shawnee. In 1960 they moved to Blair and in 1973 to Watonga and settled in Elk City in 1982 where they had lived since. Cecil's working career consisted of farming and construction and was self employed for the last 12 years in oilfield services. His hobbies includ- ed gardening, flowers and working with wood. Survivors include his wife, Mattie, of the Elk City home; his mother Mrs. Bessie Grubbs of Terlock, Calif.; also 6 children, Earl Wayne Grubbs of Skagway, Alaska; Carolyn Morgan of Elk City; Glenda Wittmayer of Cordell; Tommy Sue Martz of Oklahoma City; Freddie Joe Grubbs of Elk City; and Jimmie Lee Grubbs of Watonga; 20 grand- children and 13 great- grandchildren; two sisters, Edith Crites of Terlock, Calif.; and Pat Lafevers of Springfield, Mo.; and three brothers, Leaburn Ray Grubbs of Oakdale, Calif.; Virginia Grubbws of San Jose, Calif.; and Grady Grubbs of Ogden, Ark. he was preceded in death by his father, Ed- ward Grubbs, in 1970.
