Grubb of New Victory Was Prominent In Democrat Party Activities Funeral services for D.E. Grubbs of New Victory who died Tuesday evening were held Wednesday after-noon at the Lone Oak church, with Rev. J.L. Davis officiating. Internment was at the Lone Oak cemetery with Luttrell-Moore in charge. Mr Grubb came to Beckham county about 35 years ago and homesteaded a place eight miles northwest of Sayre. He had been prominent in Democrat parties circles and served several terms as precinct chairman. He also served as precinct chairman of the Red Cross during the Worlds War. Mr Grubb died about six oclock Tuesday night after a weeks illness. CRASH INJURY IS FATAL TO WADDELL Control Lost When Auto Skids Friday Injuries sustained in an automobile south of Cheyenne Friday resulted in the death of Walter Carr Waddell, 63 year old Sayre man, at the Clinton hospital Wednesday. Waddell lost control of his car when it skidded on the gravel. As the automobile turned over he was pinned beneath it and suffered brain concussion. Funeral services were held at 2:oclock this afternoon at the Litrell-Scroggins chapel with Rev. C.L. Davis officiating. Internment was made at the Sayre-Doxey cemetery. Wadell leaves his wife Catherine,2 sons D.G, Witherker Calif,and Ray Pasadena Calif. A daughter; 2 sisters, Mrs Fletcher Gregory, Sayre, and Mrs Hugh Gray Hobbs N.M. and a brother Frank. FUNERAL FOR YOUTH HELD Victim Of Burning Buried Monday Funeral services were held for Harold Locke Maddoux Monday afternoon at 4:Oclock at the Lone Oak Baptist church with Rev. S.L. Issacs of Clinton officiating. Young Maddoux was the son of Mr. And Mrs. H.F. Maddoux who was accidently burned to death Saturday morning at Flagstaff Arizona. He was born September 8 1923 near Sayre Beckham Co Oklahoma. He attended Sayre schools and was a member of Lone Oak Baptist church at Lone Oak. His survivors are his parents, Mr. And Mrs Maddoux,two brothers, R.L. and Don, and sister Aline. The palbearers were,Howrad Bowen, John Bonifield,Tommy Vernon,Virgil Bell, Pete Dowell, and Ray Harkins.
