OK - OBIT: James Franklin Horrocks From: myra I would like to submit the following (I hope I am doing this correctly-been on the computer only 2 months-so bare with me): From the Newspaper : "The Carter Ex__________" Friday, October 21, 1932   Early Settler Passed Away Sunday   James franklin Horrocks was born in Missouri January 9, 1860 and departed this life October 16, 1932 at the age of 72 years , 8 months and 7 days.   He was married to Cora Casteel April 10, 1886.  To this happy union were born eleven children.  Three sons have preceeded their father.  He was an early settler both Kansas and oklahoma, filing in Hodeman county and later in Oklahoma.   He gave his heart to christ along with Mrs. Horrocks, July 15, 1930.  Ill health has prevented his attending religious services but he was aloyal follower to the last.   His health had been very poor for many years and he suffered a stroke on August 19 which rendered him almost helpless.  He was so patient amid all of his suffering, never a murmur of complaint fell from his lips.   He leaves a loving wife, eight children: Santford of Carter, Mrs. Bertha Pederson of Omaha Nebraska, Florence Bowers of Enid, Mrs. Edith McCormic of Omaha, Mrs. Meda Hollenbeck of Dundee Iowa, Mrs Hazel Schreiner of Lone Wolf, Mrs. Addeline Garrett of Carter and Howard of putnam.  He also leaves 30 grandchildren along with a host of relatives and friends.   "Father, your place is vacant and none other can ever fill it, but we have the assurance that we will meet you in that land that is fairer than day.       Funeral Home Memorial Record   Frank Engels born in Germany passed away at Sentinel OK on Sept 12, 1927 64 years old Mrs. Margaret Horrocks Engels birthplace Iowa passed away at carter Ok on December 30, 1929 Age 67 years 2 months and 17 days   ==================================================================== USGENWEB NOTICE: In keeping with our policy of providing free information on the Internet, data may be used by non-commercial entities, as long as this message remains on all copied material.
