Skilled physicians were called in consultation and careful attention was given but nothing could stay the call of the Reaper. Mrs. Harmon was formerly Miss Eddie Redden, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Redden, who in an early day lived near old Streeter. She was well grown and loved and admired as a young woman. Since her marriage she has lived west of Cheyenne where she counted the entire number in the neighborhood as her friends. She was a kind and attentive neighbor ever devoted to the task of ministering to others. Mrs. Harmon leaves a husband and four children whose loss is irreparable. No one call fill the place held by the devoted wife and mother. The family tie is broken here but in that Great Beyond all may again be united in one happy family. Several children have preceded the mother into that better world, one, an infant, was buried with her. Mrs. Harmon also leaves three brothers, two sisters, and a mother who greatly mourn her loss. J. L Redden and Mrs. J. ? Stowe of Durham, Ray Redden of near Hamburg, Mrs. Mitchell of Hinton, Okla., and Bert Redden who lives in some of the western states, these with the mother whose home is near Crawford are brought to realize the grief of the loss of a sister and a daughter. Mrs. Harmon had been a christian since she was thirteen years of age and in passing from this life leaves with the loved ones the blessed hope of the hereafter. Funeral services were conducted at the Cheyenne cemetery by Bro. J. W. Wilman. A large crowd of friends and neighbors were present to pay their last tribute to one whom they loved. The editor of the Star has known the Harmon family and the Redden's for years and joins with their other friends in offering condolence and sympathy. ---------------------------------------------------------- Return to Beckham County Archives: http://www.usgwarchives.net/ok/beckham/beckham.htm
