The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. http://www.usgwarchives.net/ *********************************************************************** Elmer Quinton Harrison, 58, of Route 1, Reydon, OKl. was born November 24, 1925 in Crawford, Okla. to Jerry and Maudie Harrison and passed from this life Sunday afternoon, Arpil 1, 1984 in the Roger Mills Memorial Hospital, Cheyenne. Elmber attended school at Old Rankin and Reydon High School. He was in the armed services from 1945 to 1947. On December 25, 1948 he was married to Mary Josephine McEntire in Wheeler, Texas. For the first year of this marriage they lived in Dumas, Texas while he was employed by Diamond Shamrock. They returned to Reydon to make their home and rear their children. For 36 years he was employed as a farmer/rancher; he had served at the ASCS office as a committeman for 26 years, and still filled that office at the time of his death. For 5 years Mr. Harrison served on the Reydon School Board. They were currently owners and operators of the Corner Post Convenience Store in Reydon. He had been a member of the First Baptist Church of Reydon for a number of years. Preceding him in death were his father and 1 brother. Survivors include his wife, Jo of the home; 3 sons, Quinton, of Reydon, Okla., Elmer Ray of Wheeler, Texas, Key of Weatherford, Okla.; 4 grandchildren: Chad and Brad Harrison of Wheeler, Texas; Brandy and Stephanie Dee Harrison of Reydon, Okla.; his mother, Mrs. Maudie Harrison of Cheyenne; 3 sisters, Eva Schonels of Shattuck, Erma Hammon of Reydon, Veta Moore of Tempe, Arizona; 6 brothers: Bruce, of Allison, Texas; John of Las Vegas, Nevada; Roy of Texola, Okla.; Jay of Oklahoma City; Leldon of Reydon; Billy of Cheyenne and a number of other relatives and friends. Funeral services were conducted Tuesday evening at 5:00 p.m. in the Community Building of Reydon, with Eddie Overstreet and Lynn Heard officiating. Interment followed in the White Rose Cemetery, Reydon, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma. Active Pallbearers were Houston Fry, H.J. Wright, Charles B. Batchelor, Gary Beals, Jimmy McCoy and Jack Trammell. Honorary pallbearers, Fred Cobb, John R. Petersen, Floyd Drinnon, Ralph Hartman, George Bryan, Raymond McNeil, Billy Dean Yowell, Carl Parman and Dewitt Hawkins. Arrangements were made by Rose Chapel Funeral Service of Cheyenne.
