She passed away August 29, 2010 at Sayre at the age of 68 years, 10 months and 9 days. She moved with her family to Cheyenne, Oklahoma in December of 1945. The family later settled in Elk City, Oklahoma, in 1950. A loving wife, Phyllis is survived by her husband of 31 years, Bruce Hartman of Sayre, Oklahoma. A loving mother, Phyllis leaves behind her four children; Jacque Heine and husband, Ron of Athens, Texas; Cindy Holley and husband, Jerry of Rockwall, Texas; Teresa Shelton and husband, Bill of Haslet, Texas and Gary Nagle and wife, Kay of Burns Flat, Oklahoma. She is also survived by her two step-children; Dawn Alums and husband Marv of Naperville, Illinois and Scott Hartman of Edmond, Oklahoma. Phyllis is lovingly remembered as "Nana" by 10 grandchildren; Brandon Shelton and wife Jennifer, Amanda Watson and husband Blake, Adrian Winfield and husband Chris, Malloy Poe and husband Paul, Preston Hartman, Ashton Nagle, MaKenzy Nagle, Mason Holley, Autumn Hartman, and Madison Nagle. Many fond memories and stories of Nana's love will be shared over the years with 7 great grandchildren: James Shelton, Avery Winfield, Emily Shelton, Addison Poe, Peyton Winfield, Renna Watson and Tucker Poe. She was preceded in death by her parents, and 1 brother, Lyle Jencks. She is survived by one brother, Warren Jencks of Cheyenne, Oklahoma and five sisters: Pauline Smith of Cheyenne, Oklahoma; Jo Ann Haden of Las Cruces, New Mexico; Juanita Stauber of Roll, Oklahoma; Maxine Schuelein of Elk City, Oklahoma; Charlene Fry of Yukon, Oklahoma. She is also survived by a sister-in-law, Juanita Jencks of Clinton, Oklahoma and a host of nieces and nephews. Phyllis was locally known for her community services. She served four years on the Board of Directors for Oklahoma Baptist Homes for children. She also served the Beckham County District Attorney's office, mostlyt notably in child support services. Memorials may be made to the Oklahoma Baptist Home for Children. Services were held Wednesday September 1 2010 at 10:00 am at Sayre First Baptist Church officiated by Bro. Gary Baird and Stan Baker. Burial followed at Berlin Cemetery under the direction of Rose Chapel Funeral Service.
