Memorial services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in St. Paul United Methodist Church in Pampa with the Rev. Jim Teeter officiating. Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday in Fairlawn Cemetery in Elk City, Okla., with Teeter officiating. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St., in Amarillo. Mr. Black was born in Cheyenne, Okla. He lived in Friona where he was employed by International Harvester and was a farmer. He then moved to Pampa where he was a longtime employee of Texaco. He was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church in Pampa. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Hazel Black. He married Anna Lee Ruston in 1941 at Clinton, Okla. She died in 1998. He also was preceded in death by a son, Leland Ray Black. Survivors include a daughter, Earlene Yates of Amarillo; a son, Leon Black of Elkhart, Kan.; two sisters, Maxine Hapeman and Earnestine Ammons, both of Pampa; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. The family suggest memorials be to Baptist St. Anthony's Hospice, Box 950, Amarillo, TX 79176; or St. Paul United Methodist Church, 511 N. Hobart, Pampa, TX 79065. Amarillo Daily News, Jan. 28, 2000
