Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Amarillo South Church with Brad Small officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd. Kerry was born July 21, 1944, in Elk City, Okla. He enlisted in the U.S. Army in March 1965 and attended OCS for six months. He was honorably discharged as a first lieutenant in 1971. He married the love of his life, Janet, on May 30, 1965, and was married for almost 41 years. Kerry served as volunteer manager of T Bar M, was owner of Medic Rents for 30 years, president of Texas Association Medical Dealers and Texas Cattle Association member. He enjoyed traveling to the Caribbean. He loved watching football and was an avid tennis player. Jimmy Buffet's lost shaker of salt was found in Kerry's spirit - a salty pirate born 200 years too late. A dreamer of dreams and a traveling man, he would have turned the ship's wheel toward Secret Harbour in St. Thomas whenever he had the chance. And that's where we find him in our own imaginings: Squinting down the sunset in the Caribbean, listening for the cannon's thunder and dreaming of buried treasure. Survivors include his wife, Janet Bowling of Amarillo; a son, Shay Bowling and wife Christi of Amarillo; a daughter, Ashley Winkler and husband Steve of Frisco; his mother, Cletta Stall of Skellytown; a sister, Sandra Foust of Amarillo; a brother, Ronald K. Bowling and wife Ellen of Ionia, Mich.; five grandchildren, Joshua, Courtney, Tate, Nolan and Victoria; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family suggests memorials be to the American Heart Association, 6605 W. Interstate 40, Bldg. A-6, Amarillo, TX 79106.
