All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ************************************************ Lester Caraway RALLS - Lester Caraway, 69, of Lubbock, died Saturday, Feb. 3, 2001. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Ralls First Baptist Church with Alton Pope of Post officiating. Burial will be in Ralls Cemetery by Adams Funeral Home. Mr. Caraway was born in Portales, N.M., and lived in Ralls, Lubbock and Amarillo before returning to Lubbock. A Marine Corps veteran of the Korean War, he later served in the Marine Corps Reserve. He helped organize the Veterans Room at the Ralls Historical Museum and was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Disabled American Veterans and American Legion. He worked as a farmer and sold farm equipment. His daughter, Leslie Gayle Caraway, died in 1965. He married Linda Clements in 1957 at Petersburg. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Harold Wayne Caraway of Elk City, Okla., and Tharon Glen Caraway of Austin; two brothers, Bob Caraway of Clyde and John Caraway of Durant, Okla.; two sisters, Lura Tennison of Clyde and Jimmie Moore of Friendswood. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until 6 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
