All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ************************************************ H.D. "Dick" Cobb H.D. "Dick" Cobb, 90, of Amarillo died Wednesday, Sept. 7, 2005. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors Ivy Chapel, 2800 Paramount Blvd., with Dr. Chester O'Brien officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Mr. Cobb, a graduate of Elk City, Okla., High School, attended Oklahoma University in Norman, Okla. He married Geraldine Vanderburg in 1935. He was a district salesman for Phillips Petroleum Co. and later was promoted to assistant division sales manager. Dick moved to New Mexico in 1961 and purchased Oil Distributing Co. He moved back to Amarillo in 1965 and established Remco after securing a Remington-Rand franchise, retiring in 1982. Dick was a pilot, stationed in Chteau dun, France, and a former flight instructor at an Army base in Brady. He was a member and deacon at First Baptist Church, a member of Golden "K" Kiwanis Club, former chairman of SCORE and a member of Gideon's. He was preceded in death by a son, Gary Cobb. Survivors include his wife, Gerry; a son, Jim Cobb of Littleton, Colo.; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to First Baptist Church Missions, 1208 S. Tyler St., Amarillo, TX 79101.
