 Virgie Edwards
   Virgie "Grannie" Edwards, 92, a former resident of Elk City, Okla.,
   died Friday, Jan. 16, 1998.
   
   Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday in Whinery-Savage Funeral Service
   Chapel in Elk City with the Rev. James Perkey officiating. Burial will
   be in Fairlawn Cemetery.
   
   Mrs. Edwards was born in De Kalb. She moved to Elk City in 1959 from
   the Merritt community where she and her husband had farmed. She moved
   to Amarillo in 1990.
   
   Mrs. Edwards was a member of Merritt Presbyterian Church and attended
   the Fairview Baptist Church. She was a member of the Merritt Quilting
   Club.
   
   She married Frank Edwards in 1922 at Elk City. He preceded her in
   death.
   
   Survivors include two daughters, Mamie Loyd of Amarillo and Fern Wymer
   of Azel; five grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and 11
   great-great-grandchildren.
