Imogene Fritts

ELK CITY, Okla. - Imogene Fritts, 85, died Friday, Jan. 20, 2006, in Amarillo,
Texas.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Whinery-Savage Funeral Service Chapel
with Joe Sapp officiating. Burial will be in Spring Creek Cemetery in Spring
Creek. Celebration of life services will be at 4 p.m. Thursday in St. Paul
United Methodist Church in Amarillo.

Mrs. Fritts was born Aug. 15, 1920, in Spring Creek to Dorotha Viola
Armbruster and Frank Anthony Armbruster. Imogene married Walker Lonzo Fritts
on Sept. 10, 1938, in Sayre. They lived and farmed in the Carter community
until moving to Amarillo in 1957. Imogene and Walker returned to the Elk City
area in 1981, where, board by board, they built their home. Imogene chose to
return to Amarillo in 1999 to be closer to family.

Imogene was a homemaker. She loved being a gramma, fishing, crocheting and
gardening. Friends and family alike benefited from her talents.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; a brother, Frank
Anthony Armbruster; and a daughter-in-law, Ruth Ann Fritts.

Survivors include two sons, Vernon Harold Fritts and wife, Jeannie, of
Livingston, Texas, and Walker Rex Fritts of Amarillo; two brothers, C.D.
Armbruster and wife, Janice, of Norman and Eldon Armbruster and wife, Nancy,
of Amarillo; a sister-in-law, Sarah Armbruster of Little Rock, Ark.; two
granddaughters, Machelle Bates and husband, Bobby, of West Richland, Wash.,
and Leslee Bachus and husband, Richard, of Denton, Texas; three great-
granddaughters, Alyssa Bates and Ashley Bates, both of West Richland, and
Casey Bachus of Denton; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
