All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ************************************************ Fay Gardiner CANADIAN - Fay Gardiner, 93, formerly of Beaver, Okla., died Friday, Feb. 3, 2006. Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday in First United Methodist Church in Beaver with the Rev. Monte Kreis officiating. Burial will be in Pioneer Cemetery in Beaver by Hughs Funeral Home of Canadian. Mrs. Gardiner was born Aug. 3, 1912, in Texmo, Okla., to the late Mr. Charles Fisher and Mrs. Ora Mae Brown Fisher. She was a graduate of Moorewood High School in Moorewood, Okla. She then went on to complete a business course at Draughn's Business College in Elk City, Okla. She married Hagen Gardiner on June 11, 1933, in Elk City. He preceded her in death on May 7, 1980. While living in Elk City, she worked at the First National Bank. Her family moved to Turpin, Okla., where they lived for about 13 years before moving to Beaver in 1955. Fay joined the Baptist church at an early age and later joined the Methodist church at Turpin, Okla. Upon moving to Beaver, she transferred her membership to First United Methodist Church and was the financial secretary for a number of years. Fay worked at the Bank of Beaver City for more than 20 years, where she met the public on a daily basis and was an integral part of the bank's operations. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Martha's Circle and the Eastern Star. She moved to Canadian to be close to her son in April 2002. She was also preceded in death by a son, Homer Gardiner on Jan. 29, 2006, and a granddaughter, Cristen Gardiner on June 11, 1981. Survivors include two sons, Cliff Gardiner and wife, Maggie, of Lakewood, Colo., and Mike Gardiner and wife, Deana, of Canadian; a daughter-in-law, Barbara Gardiner of Monticello, Ind.; 10 grandchildren, Allen Gardiner and Chad Gardiner both of Frisco, Tra Johnson of Burleson, Stacy Hunzeker of Buda, Brandon Johnson of Houston, Steve Taylor of Midwest City, Okla., Jon Gardiner, Chuck Gardiner and Tom Keehen all of Bolingbrook, Ill., and Kim Crain of Naperville, Ill.; and 11 great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to First United Methodist Church, 201 Ave. F, Beaver, OK 73932.
