Melba Kathryn Hawkins

Melba Kathryn Hawkins, 76, of Amarillo died Thursday, March 9, 2006.

Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. Monday in Boxwell Brothers Funeral
Directors Ivy Chapel, 2800 Paramount Blvd., with Ray Smart of Sayre, Okla.,
officiating.

Mrs. Hawkins was born Jan. 31, 1930, in Erick, Okla., to Paul G. and Essie
Armstrong. She attended schools in Erick and graduated from Erick High School
in 1948. She was a homemaker.

She married J.C. Hawkins in March 1954.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister; and a brother.

Survivors include her husband; a son, Paul Richard Owen of Amarillo; a
daughter, Kathy Jo Hawkins of Amarillo; a stepson, Jimmy Hawkins and wife,
Teresa, of Rimrock, Ariz.; two brothers, Clyde Armstrong of La Junta, Colo.,
and Mike Armstrong and wife, Barbara, of Mustang, Okla.; and several nieces
and nephews.

The family suggests memorials be to the Don and Sybil Harrington Cancer
Center, 1500 Wallace Blvd., Amarillo, Texas 79106 or a favorite charity.
