All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ************************************************ Rick L. Hudson SAYRE, Okla. - Rick L. Hudson, 45, died Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2001. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Sayre First Baptist Church with Andy Taylor and Daryle Perry officiating. Burial will be in Sayre-Doxey Cemetery by Rose Chapel Funeral Service. Mr. Hudson was born Feb. 26, 1956, in Dallas to Kathryn and James Hudson. He moved with his parents to Marshall in 1970 where he graduated from high school in 1974. He graduated from the University of Texas with a bachelor's degree in management in 1978 before attending Sam Houston State in Huntsville, Texas, where he received his master's of science degree in agri-business in 1984. He was married to Janis Kay (Taylor) Hudson in Amarillo on Oct. 3, 1993. He began his corrections career in 1981 with the Texas Department of Corrections as a corrections officer. He worked up through the ranks at one medium and four maximum custody facilities in Texas. He last served in Texas as an assistant warden at the William P. Clements Jr. Facility in Amarillo. In January of 1996, he left the public sector and joined Corrections Corp. of America. He was an assistant warden at CCA'S Winnfield Louisiana and Cushing facilities before being appointed as warden of North Fork Correctional Facility at Sayre in August 1997. In summer 2000, he became an auditor for CCA. In November 2000, he became warden of the Torrance County Detention Facility in Estancia, N.M. He was an active member of the Sayre Rotary Club and was honored in 2001 as a Paul Harris Fellow. He was a member of Trinity Fellowship. He was preceded in death by his grandparents. Survivors include his wife, Jan; three daughters, Kealan, Taylor and Emily; a son, Cooper; his parents, Jimmy and Kathryn Hudson of Sulphur Springs, Texas; a brother, Gary Hudson and wife, Jackie, of Caddo Mills, Texas; his brothers and sisters-in-law, Sue and Calvin Bradley, Pat Rea, Curt and Lorrie Taylor and Becky and Johnny Parker, all of Amarillo, Gary and Judy Taylor of Yorktown, Texas, and Jack and Barby Moran of Atlanta; and a host of relatives and friends.
