Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Groom United Methodist Church with the Rev. Weldon Reeves officiating. Burial will be in Groom Cemetery by Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors of Amarillo, 5400 S. Bell St. Mrs. Knowles married Burnise H. Cooper on Oct. 9, 1924, in Sayre, Okla., and he preceded her in death in 1971. She moved to Groom in 1944. On Dec. 28, 1976, she married a longtime friend, Steve Knowles in Erick, Okla., and he preceded her in death in 1981. She was a member of Groom United Methodist Church and taught Sunday school, bible school, sang in the choir and was an active member of United Methodist Women. Survivors include four daughters, Jeanne Morrow and LaWanda Lee Redd, both of Groom, Yvonne Wetzel of Houston and Merilyn White of Wichita, Kan.; a son, James H. Cooper of Elk City, Okla.; 13 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to Groom United Methodist Church. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the church.
