Mamie Lee Loyd

WHEELER - Mamie Lee Loyd, 82, died Sunday, Oct. 22, 2006.

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. today in Fairlawn Cemetery in Elk City,
Okla., with the Rev. Ricky Carstensen, pastor of First United Methodist Church
in Wellington, officiating. Arrangements are by Wright Funeral Home of
Wheeler.

Mrs. Loyd was born Jan. 4, 1924, in Elk City to Frank and Virgie Edwards. Mrs.
Loyd married Artie Gwen Loyd in 1942 in Elk City.

Mrs. Loyd had lived in Wheeler for four years, moving from Amarillo. Mrs. Loyd
had lived in the Amarillo area for 30 years. She had worked for 17 years in
the Amarillo schools with special education children.

She was preceded in death by a son, Donnie Loyd.

Survivors include her husband, Gwen Loyd; three grandchildren, James Loyd of
Albuquerque, N.M., Jason Loyd of Weatherford and Stephanie Cooper of Lubbock;
five great-grandchildren; a sister, Fern Wymer of Robstown; and a nephew,
Lyndon Loyd and wife Noveline of Wheeler.
