Oscar B. Luman
SHAMROCK - Oscar B. Luman, 84, died Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2000.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in First Baptist Church 
with the Rev. Jack Lee, pastor, and his grandson, Derek Holmes, 
officiating. Burial will be in Mayfield Cemetery at Mayfield, 
Okla., by Wright Funeral Directors.

Mr. Luman was born in Erick, Okla. He graduated in 1935 from 
Erick High School, where he was wrestling state champion in 1934. 
He attended Weatherford College. In 1958, he moved to Shamrock, 
where he operated a Mobil service station. 

He was a Boy Scout leader and a Sunday school teacher. He was a 
member of the Lion's Club in Erick and the First Baptist Church 
in Shamrock.

Mr. Luman married Lena Whipkey in 1938 at Erick.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Kathryn Holmes of Amarillo; 
a sister, Velma Snoe of Arvada, Colo.; a grandson; and a great-
grandson.

The family suggests memorials be to First Baptist Church building 
fund.
