Lawrence Martin

FRIONA - Lawrence Martin, 83, died Wednesday, Feb. 7, 2007.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Calvary Baptist Church with the
Rev. Rick Burton and the Rev. Steve Patterson, pastor of Friona United
Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Friona Cemetery by Blackwell
Funeral Home.

Mr. Martin was born Nov. 14, 1923, in Elk City, Okla., to Calvin and Lela
Baxter Martin. He served in the United States Air Force during WWII. He
married Patsy Davis in Lamar, Colo., in 1952. He was a longtime rancher and
farmer.

Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Carolyn Wetmore and husband Dave
of San Ramon, Calif., Susan Harkey and husband Jeff of Burkburnett and Linda
Klinger and husband Dr. Don Klinger of Fairview, Okla.; two sons, Loren Martin
and wife Jackie of Friona and Jerry Martin and wife Mary of Texico, N.M.; a
sister, Marilyn Nidey of Campo, Colo.; a brother Clarence Martin of Friona; 15
grandchildren, a great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be to Prairie Acres Nursing
Home, 201 East 15th St., Friona, TX 79035; or to a favorite charity.
